I hope it helps her. She can look on the early Census records to see if the children's ages match up with James A Mayo. If they do, I have much more on him in Cabell Co. WV in the way of deeds, grants etc.

Actually I think the name says more. I think he named one for Valentine, left the James as he to was a James and went to Williamson, who was his father. I will try to find the book on Adkins my wife's aunt wrote. Benjamine Garrett and his grandchildren are in that and I can see if the names match.
