Thanks for that information on the Mayo's or Mayowe's of Cornwell.

You should be aware that many of the descendants of Rev. John Mayo of Northamptonshire were seafaring men. It was Rev. John's son Samuel who commanded the ship "Desire" and with a group of other Cape Codders traveled to Long Island Sound and founded the town of Oyster Bay, New York. Other Mayo's from Cape Cod were whaling ship or clipper ship captains. For what its worth.
