Thanks so much for your detailed reply. Jefferson and Signor were brothers. I think you're right about Ida being a Burgess. That was the conclusion I came to when it was noted that Fred was an inlaw. Half-siblings makes sense. I take it that Swinfield Maynor didn't have children, or a child named Ida. Jefferson was married to Mary Davis before he ran off with young Ida. Mary became a Welch. Jefferson's grandsons
never really got to know him, and so the search for where he went and the question became...did he have children with Ida.
