Haven't done much on my genealogy stuff for a while, but went to this site a couple of months ago, & you have really done alot! As I was scanning over the names- I ran across Mary Ellen Burrow Talley- what a wonderful lady she was! Mrs. Talley lived right next door to my Mom (Carolyn Green Chaney- daughter of Herbert Leonard Green, grand daughter of Louticia Jane Maynor Green, gr grand daughter of John Maynor)in the apartments across from Jackson County Hospital- they became good friends. My children just loved to go over and visit with Mrs. Talley. My Mom passed away in 1996, in the year or so before her passing, we began discussing family history- I was born in Jackson Co, but did not grow up here, moved back to area in 1991- and I guess Mom figured since I was an only child she'd make sure to try to clue me in on what she knew to pass on to her grandkids. It sticks out in my memory that after Mom's passing, on one of our later visits with Mrs. Talley in which I just happened to be talking about genealogy, she told me that she thought we might be related- at that time, I couldn't figure out how. Everytime we went to vist, I felt so comfortable, like I was at home, but then Mrs. Talley was just like that. Also, do you know Jerita Chaney(maiden name)- she is a cousin on my dad's side of the family- and, as I was telling my husband about the connection to Mary Ellen Burrow Talley, he said look and see if Billy Burrow is in there- sure enough- my husband works with him. I have attempted to start putting accumulated info into our family treemaker program- and boy is it a pain. Well, enough rambling for now,
Take care, Ann
