Winifred Mayhew, age 82, of Broadway Street, Jackson, died Thursday
afternoon at her residence. Born in Noblesville, Indiana, on September
26,
1906, the daughter of Abner and Clara (Thompson) Bennett, she was
preceded
in death by husband, Clyde, in 1974. A former teacher with the Jackson
City
Schools, she was a retired floral designer and a member of the Jackson
Business and Professional Women's Club and of the University Women's
Club.
Survivors include one son, Robert, of Jackson; one daughter, Mrs.
Merrill
(Rowenna) Evans, of Waukee, Iowa; one brother, Robert Bennett, of
Noblesvile, Indiana; and one sister, Betty Bennett, of New Castle,
Indiana.
Services are set for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home. Burial
will be
in Fairmount Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 at the
funeral
home.
