In regards to this, I have papers from my father, Wm. F. Mayhall that say, my great-great grandfather was Samuel W. Mayhall(died 1874) of New London, Mo. who married Louisiana Alsop, a daughter of George & Ann (Bartlett) Alsop, a family of some fame in Colonial days. An uncle of Mrs. Alsop, one Josias Bartlett, was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Mayhall family is of Welsh-Irish ancestry. Noticing your reply was to a miami earl mayhall, my son's name is Earl Mayhall Smith.
