Hi William -
My mother's nickname was "Doll" when she was a child according to family notes (Dolly in the 1900 Census).Later on went she went by the name of "Bessie" - a contraction of her given name "Eliazabeth".She thought "Bessie" sounded too much like a cow's name and as an adult called herself "Bess".Her father's name is John Morris Mayhall and indeed the listings you have are of my grandarents, mother, aunts and uncles.
From the LDS database I too have the date of birth of John Morris' mother, Elizabeth Longmire, as July 24, 1827.Very recently I found quite a comprehensive ancestor listing for her from this database.I have not had time to look at his carefully or look at the list of submitters - are you one?
I would be most interested in what you can provide me about my ancestors.I have a few more clues that I can provide if it would be of any help. How do you relate to this line?
Thank you very much for responding.I look forward to your reply.
