I recently purchased the subject undated studio portrait of three brothers taken by Chaffin's Studio, Colton, CA. It is identified on the back:
"Lewis [sic] Glen & Walter Mayes"
I found this family listed in the 1910 Census data for Colton (residence 270 F Street), San Bernardino Co., CA; and the 1920 and 1930 Census data for Prescott (232/228 South Marina Street), Yavapai, AZ. I also found these individuals listed in two Public Member Trees posted on ancestry.com. The family members are:
William W. Mayes, head, grocery slsmn, b. about 1873 in MO
Mary K. Johnson, wife, b. about 1874 in MO
Louis George Mayes, son, b. about 1900 in MO
Walter Edward Mayes, son, b. about 1904 in CO
Glen W. Mayes, son, b. about 1907 in CA
