Thomas MAYES and Margaret HUSTON'S first son James was born in 1729, second son Thomas was born in 1730. A scotish tradition was to name the first son after its paternal grandfather and the second after its maternal grandfather. Margaret HUSTON had brother Andrew who died in May 1782 in Dauphin County and was married to a PARK and a brother John.

My speculation is that Thomas and Margaret may have been married about 1727-28 and her father's name may have been Thomas HUSTON.
