Not related just offering info to those interested:
I found, in a SOUNDEX search of Naturalization records for the year 1792. (meaning the spelling could be any variation of the Mayer/Meyer surname) ANTON MAYER of Austria applied for Naturalization in NYC in 1792. His witness was named ALbert Celka. Hope this helps someone.
