Dear Gerald,

Hello, Cousin. I believe we are descended from the same line of Mayberrys. My father was Charles W. Mayberry, he had a twin brother, Harley. My grandfather was William Orlando (Called Ora or Ory). Ora had a sister Gladys who died of dropsy when she was 11 and a half. One of Ora's daughters was also named Gladys. Orys'father was William Riley Mayberry B. 1864 in Morgan County, Ohio, whose father was Samuel, B. 1841 in Ohio, whose father was Ebenezer Mayberry of Cecil County Maryland, B. 1806.

William Riley married Emily Luella Mendenhall and they immigrated to Wyoming adn South Dakota. Emily is buried in the Boyd Cemetery in Custer, S.D. The Mendenhall lineage is well-documented going back from her.

I think your James Herbert Mayberry was Ora's brother. I have that he had two sons, Ike and Ray. I have a great deal to share about this line. Please e-mail me at

Jodine Mayberry
