Hi Leslie,

Nice to meet you and thank you for your reply. Interesting note, I was born in Wynne and lived at Bay Village as a child. My mother still owns land there.

I am searching for info on my mother in law's family. My mother-in-law's mother was a lady by the name of Mildred Louise Mayberry, b.~1921, Lake City, AR - d. July 8, 1956, Pensacola, FL. She had a younger sister named Marguerite who was born about 1903, prob. Lake City, AR. I believe she married and moved to Indianapolis. I know that when Mildred died in Florida her sister took charge of the burial and listed her address as Indianapolis. I know very little about their parents other than their names and approximate years of birth.

According to the 1930 Census of Caruthersville, Pemiscot Co., MO the family was listed as following:

Thomas Mayberry, b. ~1902, AR He listed both parents as being born in Arkansas as well. He was head of household.

Christine Mayberry (spouse), b. ~1903, MO She listed both her parents as being born in MO.

Mildred, b. ~1921 daughter

Marguerite, b. ~1924 daughter.

I know they moved back to Arkansas not too long afterwards because Mildred married Carlton Phillips in Crittenden Co., AR in 1935. They lived in Turrell, AR (and had four children) until she left him and the kids in the late 40's. She disappeared for many years and her children had no idea of where she was for a very long time. They do know that at the time of her death she was married to a man named Stegemiller. Nothing is known of him whatsoever.

I'm searching for Thomas and Christine Mayberry's parents and of course any info I can find on them. Would love to know what ever happened to her sister Marguerite as well.
My mother - in - law told me that she thought her mother had been born in Lake City (which is close to Jonesboro I think). She did not know her mother's family to speak of except that when she was very little they lived in West Memphis (Crittenden Co.).

I would really appreciate if you would ask your family if they are familiar with the names of Thomas, Christine, Mildred or Marguerite. They lived in the Crittenden Co., AR are in the 30's and into the 40's. Before that they were likely in the Lake City, AR area and obviously in Pemiscot Co., MO in 1930. I do think that there have got to be some relatives left in Arkansas in this area. My mother-in-law would love to find her family.

Good luck on your project! If I can help in any way just let me know. Please write back if your family does know these names. Thanks.........Shannon
