May research in Germany
I visited the Center for German Genealogy in Leipzig, Germany.I found there two 16mm microfilms, with index cards, with May individuals.I was not able to find out if it is possible to see them in other places.Has anyone researched there or has more information on their collection?.I estimate is; there are 3 to 5 thousand records on May, Mai, Mey and other variations in the second reel.In the first reel, 1/3 of it, are May individuals sorted by locality. Each index card has a number, that allows to find more.I was there only two hours, so I was not able to get more information. My German is not that great, and their English was not good either. So a lot got lost in translation.Searching in the internet for more information, there seems to be another Center for Genealogy in Frankfurt am main.
The one in Leipzig, is 3 stations away, from the main train Station.About 20 minutes. Plus a 10 minute walk.Nice modern corner building, at the Saxoni Archives.Second floor.
