My wife is Melinda (May) Thornton. John May is my wife's G-G-G Grandfather. She is descended from John May and his first wife, Elizabeth Bounds. James Starling May (1832-1911) was her G-G Grandfather. John Robert May (1859-1935) was her Great Grandfather. Andrew Jackson May (1893-1963) was her Grandfather.
