Thanks Linda.
My great grandma Susan Ann lost her dad her uncle William
her uncle Jesse May all shot down in the feud.
She also had one brother killed too. She had sevral suriving brothers but i dont know if males are left from that line.
If I could find a few i would try to get them DNA swabbed.
There is a Jesse May on the Madison Kentucky Tax list 1792.
But our records show Jackson Jesse and William came from Willaim May who lived in a nearby county. He married Sarah Land who had a brother named Jackson Land.
There mother was Elizabeth Bowlin or Bolen a sister of John Bowlin.
His name appeared in a news article in 1918 by a old resident of Hawkins Tenn. he said to be be a finer looking full blooded
Melungeon a Indian and entered the war of 1812...
Jackson May married Matilla Burton she was a daughter of Devil Bob Burton and Racheal Mcmullen.
Bob Burtons parents were Isaac Burton and Sarah Bolen.
What they say Kentucky kizzen kuzzens.
George May was a early Kentucky surveyor, Thomas May lived near the Burtons and Bowlings in early Montgomery Co va
and the May family had a landing on the Kentucky river in the early days of settlement.
