Maxwell and Burns
I have searched everywhere I know to look to find information on Sicily Burns and her husband, possibly Jesse Maxwell. There is a marriage record in Carroll County, Georgia for Jesse Maxwell and Sicily Burns on December 21, 1851. Sicily was the mother of Georgia Ann, Jefferson Davis, and John H. Maxwell. I know that Georgia Ann Maxwell and her husband, Christopher Columbus Kinney are buried near Allgood, Alabama at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. I found an old picture in the back of an upright piano that my grandmother (Georgia Ann's daughter) gave me years ago. The picture has a message on the back written in pencil, so it is very faded. It reads (typed exactly as written):
Cisley Maxwell pictur she is (unreadable word) your dear (unreadable word) grandmother gone on to the happy world so take care of her picture as it has already soiled she was a sweet mother to her grandchildren she only had 3 children to leave (unreadable word) 1 girl 2 boys Georgia, John and Jeff Maxwell so by by be sure to carfor this picture all ways

I have found several Georgia A. Maxwells on census records--one in the household of Thomas Maxwell and another in the household of George W. Maxwell, but based on the siblings of Georgia Ann, I cannot make a connection. Does anyone have any bit of information that might help me? I am really interested in finding something. Please help if you can.
