Hello Cousin,I am new at the computer and still finding my way. Yours is the first link I have found on the web.
With the help of John Duncanson's material I have been able to trace my ancestry back to Johann Heinrich Meichsner. My line goes back to Johann Heinrich's grandson,David, through the latter's daughter,Margaret. She was my great grandmother, born in 1824. She married Edward Davey and they lived, for a time,on Barrington Street,Halifax,Nova Scotia. Around 1886 they migrated to Newark,New Jersey.(You may note that Duncanson lists Margaret as having married a William Stevenson. I don't know anything about him,but by the time Margaret's father's will was written, she was described as having married Edward Davey.)
My husband and I visited Halifax,Lunenburg, Windsor etc in September,1996, doing family research. By sheer good fortune, while we were in the library at Windsor,John Duncanson happened by. He was a very pleasant man and I was happy to have made his acquaitance.Of course,he was also a distant cousin. Best regards,Dot Whiting
