From the manuscript transcript of Wareham Town Book 2, by J. M. Lincoln, held at the Wareham Free Library, page 379, marriage intentions were filed between Moses Barrows of Middleborough and Mercy W. Maxim of Wareham, 22 Oct. 1837. The actual marriage record is not on file in Wareham. A similar record of intentions appears in the published Middleborough vital records. You might be interested in a marriage record from the published Carver vital records (page 88) which shows Mercy W. Barrows, 30, born Wareham, dau Jesse Maxim, married (2d marriage for both) Hiram Tilson, 38 moulder, son of Ichabod, on 4 Nov. 1849.
