Does anyone know what happened to Mary Maxfield - Williams after Preserved died?
I have her listed as the daughter of John Maxfield and Elizabeth Hall (correct?)
She married Preserved and after he died...? In one of the google books online there is a bunch of Dorchester information which I assembled into a timeline (because otherwise I get all confused)

Now after Preserved died there is no mention of "Widow Williams" until she died. Now guessing she was 30 - 35 when he died and when she died she was listed as "the widow of Preserved Williams" I assume she did not remarry.
He died in 1741 and in 1749 there is a mention of Mary Williams having a child with a "Negro", then again in 1756 there is mention of Mary Williams having a child with James Auger.
I'm not suggesting this is the same Mary Williams but she would have been within childbearing years and didn't die until 1791.
All this is leading up to a simple question... Did Mary Maxfield widow of Preserved Williams have 2 children out of wedlock?
