Mary Elizabeth Maxey was the first of ten children of Jesse H. Maxey and Lucinda Amyx.
Jesse H. Maxey was the second of four children of Richard Maxey and Mahala Goodman.
Richard Maxey was the second of twelve children of John Maxey and Mary "Polly" Nichols Maxey.
John Maxey was born about 1799 in Franklin County Virginia. He was the oldest of three children of Jabez Isaiah Maxey and Elizabeth Shrewsbury (Solesbury? Salisbury?) Maxey.
Jabez Maxey was the fifth of twelve children of Josiah Maxey and Phoebe (Arthur? Boaz?) Maxey.
Josiah Maxey was the oldest of ten children of Walter Justinian Maxey and Mary Netherland Maxey.
Walter Justinian Maxey was the seventh of eight children of Edward Maxey (b. abt. 1678, London England) and his wife Mary Susanna Gates (Gaites?) Maxey.
