In response to the message regarding Daniel Maus, if any of his children were born in Dumfries Tsp. it was most likely South Dumfries, Brant County. The center for the Maus family there is the Paris Plains, which is a farming region just north of the town of Paris.

There is a preserved period church and school there - the Paris Plains Church and the Maus School. Both are National Historic Sites. Adjacent to the church, there is a grave yard with stones that date back to the early 19th century. Many of the Maus' who emigrated to Canada are buried there, particularly the descendents of Henry V. S. Maus.

On the second Sunday in June, there is a commemorative service held (hopefully outdoors) at the church.

In specific regard to your message, there is a Daniel Maus buried in that cemetery.
