Michael Maurer born in 1739(?) was the father of Johannes. That is as far back as I can go. He married a Sophia Mourer. Her son was born about 1763. Switzerland sent many a Maurer over to america when it first opened up. That perpetuated the mistake in offspring. My lineage is as follows:
Michael Maurer-John Johannes Maurer/Mowery-Peter Mowery Sr.-John H. Mowery-Byron Mowery-David Strouse Mowery/Mowrey-Byron Jefferson Mowrey-Robert Daniel Mowrey(Myself)-Anthony David Mowrey (my son) has a son, Elias and a daughter, Kleanthi and step-son Caleb Lockwood. That is the complete first lineage of my family.
No 14 year olds having babies. I saw that also. The other side of my family goes way-way back. I have direct connections with Ury's, Mowrey (other lineage), von Tesmar's,Vaughn's, MacDonalds and others. It was a fascinating search. I spent 10years following the lineage. I got all the way back to royalty in the year 900. Hope that clarifies things up.
