Maunsell -- Ireland to Chicago in 1800's

Hi there:

Iím working on my family history and have come to a brick wall concerning my Maunsell ancestors. My great-grandfather was Frank Maunsell, born in 1873 in Illinois. According to the 1880 US Census (Chicago), he lived with his mother Isabel Maunsell, who was born in Ireland. Also living at home were 6 siblings including Charles (b. 1866 in Ireland), Annie (b. 1867 in Ireland), and Irene (b. 1870 in Illinois). Apparently the family moved from Ireland to Chicago sometime between 1867 and 1870. I really donít know if Maunsell was Isabelís married name or maiden name (thereís no mention of a husband or father of her children).

Are there enough clues here to jog something? Any ideas how to proceed? Thanks!

Jody (Maunsell) Parker
