I have recieved a copy of both James Thomas Mauldin and Marcus T. Mauldin's death certificates. James' mother is listed as Mary Ann Sratt and Marcus' list Mary Seratt as his mother. I believe this should discount the misinformation that their mother was a Lester, and was indeed a Surratt, Serratt or other variation of the name.
