Thanks for the information on Marcus and James T. Mauldin.
You stated that James' mother was Mary Lester. I have found that to be incorrect. There was a transcription error of Mary Ann Lester's marriage to William H Yates. Mary Ann Lester married William Henry Gates in Tishomingo County Mississippi.
When I recieved my gr-grandfathers death certificate it stated his mother was a "Ms Surrat". Thinking there must be some mistake, I sent for Frank's death certificate, and it also states his mother being "Mary Surat", so I'm interested in what Marcus and James death certificate says their mothers maiden name was(if any).
