Thomas, My Grandmother was buried on mauk ridge. The farm there in Elliot county was sold around the time of her death +- 1990. I believe a East coast Mauk purchased it. I have not been to the farm sence after Grayson Reservoir was finished and filled. The mauk's had a water powered grist mill at the head of the falls there. They would grind grain for their neighbors and be paid with a portion of the product. The story was told to me that due to goverment pressure they went legal and produced burbon, bottled, labeled, tax stamped, with a state seal. The first load was stolen the night before shipment.Lilly used that antique state seal as a door stop in her home. There is a seam of coal very close to a spring on the farm, said to have made the finest whisky around. The farm is located half way between Olive Hill and Grayson.cuz chris
