Hi David,
Well, we certainly will connect...eventually!! But first a few minor details to get the ball rolling:
You mention that your grandfather was Jack, your Mother was born in Salford, YKS, and is, in some way, connected to a Henry Maudsley via your beautiful ivory walking stick.
Do you have any further details on your Grandfather? It would help if we knew the following:
His full name, Jack is usually a nickname for John. His year of birth, or, if this is not known, how old was he when he died?
Do you know where he was born?
Have you any idea of the names of his parents?
Do you know who he married, where and when?
Yes David, we are cousins, but there are many branches of the family and what we have to do is work out just which one you come from so we can neatly fit you in and supply you with a few hundred years of ancestors!!!
My Henry Maudslay was very famous in England and will be in any history book on notable people at your local library.
Welcome to the Maudslay clan.
