The California death index indicates James P. Mauck was born 09 Aug 1891 in Kansas. He died 25 Jul 1964 in Tehama County, CA. His mom's maiden name was Bradshaw.

Tehama County is a pretty rural area, north of Sacramento and south of Redding. Farming mostly. If you write the county and request a death certificate, it will likely identify his parents. Don't write the State of California. Budget cuts have caused them to take forever, if at all.

If you can get James a coule generations farther back, we can probably identify his ancestry back into the 1700's. Probably, not definite.
