Dear Steve

Many thanks for your message.

Have you been in touch with Ron Mahurin on RonMahurin@aol.com? He too has been investigating Hugh Mahurin for 35 years or so.

So far I have not been able to trace a connection between Mahurin and Maturin. The first confirmed evidence of Gabriel M and his family in Dublin was in 1718 when Gabriel James entered Trinity College Dublin. I should be delighted for more information about the two earlier Irish / Scottish Maturins. We have a shadowy figure of a Peter, who died about 1730 but is unrelatable at present.

Let me know if you would like the information passed to me by Ron.

Kind regards

Mike Osborne
