Isaiah Mattix and Sarah Ann Mitchell

I am interested in exchanging info on the descendants of this couple. I am working on the family of Isaiah's mother Eliza Coldren.

1. Isaiah1 Mattix was born on 7 Mar 1839 at Ohio. He married Sarah Ann Mitchell on 26 Apr 1863 at Marion, Ohio. He died on 14 Oct 1902 at age 63. He was buried circa 16 Oct 1902 at Sidener Cemetery, St. Elmo, Fayette, Illinois.

Enlisted as a Private on 28 November 1861 at the age of 20
Enlisted in Company K, 66th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 26 December 1861.
Received a disability discharge Company K, 66th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 18 December 1862 in Alexandria, VA.

1870 Federal Census
Isaiah Mattix (age 31) is living with Sarah A. (age 24), Eva (age 6) Franklin (age 4), and Elnora (age 2) in Claridon, Marion County, Ohio (original page 12). Isaiah is a manuf miller with real property valued at 2350 dollars and personal property valued at 200 dollars.

1880 Federal Census
Isaiah Mattix (age 41) is living with his wife Sarah (age 35), son Frankland (age 14), son Elmo (age 12), daughter Ema (age 10) and son Charles C. (age 6) in West township, Effingham County, Illinois (ED 140 page 5). Isaiah is a farmer.

Isaiah Mattix applied for pension based on civil war service in Company K, 66 Ohio Infantry. His application number was 698049 and certificate number was 498032 on 8 Apr 1889.

1900 Federal Census
Isaiah Mattix (Mar 1839) is living with his wife of 37 years, Sarah A. (May 1846) in Mound, Effingham County, Illinois (ED 86 sheet 2B). Isaish is a farmer and owns his farm free of mortgages. Sarah says she has had 6 pregnancies and has 4 living children.

Sarah A. Mattix applies for a widows pension based on her husbands civil war service. Application number 772402 and certificate number 551038 on 27 Oct 1902.

1910 Federal Census
Sarah A. Mattix (age 63) is a widow and head of household in Wheatland, Fayette County, Illinois (ED 75 sheet 7B). Sarah has no occupation and owns her farm free of mortgages. She says she has had 6 pregnancies and 4 lviving children.

1920 Federal Census
Sarah A. Mattix (age 73) is a widow and single head of household in Wheatland, Fayette County, Illinois (ED 96 sheet 9B). Sarah has no occupation and owns her farm free of mortgages.

Sarah Ann Mitchell was born in May 1846 at Ohio. She died on 29 Jan 1920 at Wheatland, Fayette, Illinois, at age 73. She was buried circa 3 Feb 1920 at Sidener Cemetery, St. Elmo, Fayette, Illinois.

Known children of Isaiah1 Mattix and Sarah Ann Mitchell all born at Marion, Ohio, were as follows:
        i.       Eva Francis2 was born on 1 Mar 1864 in Marion County, Ohio. She died on 6 Mar 1877 at age 13.
        ii.       Franklin was born on 15 Sep 1867. He married Elsie Viola Mettler on 27 Dec 1887 at Effingham, Illinois.
        iii.       Ellsworth was born on 8 Apr 1868 in Marion County, Ohio. He died after 8 Apr 1868 at Marion, Ohio.
        iv.       Elmer Ernest was born on 8 Apr 1868. He married Sophia Schaub on 3 Oct 1895 at Fayette, Illinois.
        v.       Emma Arminda was born on 12 Aug 1870. She married Samuel Elden Burrus Sidener on 1 Nov 1888 at Fayette, Illinois.
        vi.       Charles Clinton was born on 11 Aug 1873. He married Clara Amma Lear on 9 Dec 1897 at Fayette, Illinois.
