Asa Mattingly served as a Private in Company C of 1st Battalion Arkansas Infantry, Union Army.He died at the age of 25, 21 Oct 1862, Helena, AR.
Delila Brown filed for a service related pension as the widow of Asa Mattingly.A minor named Charles F. Brown is on the same pension card.Widow's application #214.057. Minor's application #206.213, certificate #215.114.The filmed card is very hard to read, so I am not sure if the widow filed for the pension on 26 May 1872, 1873 or 1878.I lean more toward 1872 because that is what the date for Charles' filing looks like.
