Hi Ron-
No, I wish I did have information on Simon and Agnes' ancestry. I contacted the Mattice Family Genealogy Association just the other day, but have not heard back from them yet. I have searched in Stormont Co., Ontario for Simon but no luck. I do know that Agnes Stockton was born in England, as were her folks. Simon's parents were also born in Ontario.
You and my husband, Walt, are second cousins. I am surprised we have never met. We lived in Sacramento & Lodi from 1986 to 1994, and then moved back to Portland. We now live in Vancouver, WA. We spent a lot of time with Walt's Uncle Bob & Aunt Emily Nevins, and Uncle Roger & Aunt Betty Nevins. Freeman & Lily Mae Mattice are Walt's Great Grandparents too. His grandparents were your grandfather's sister, Gladys, and Oren Nevins. Walt's Mom was their daughter, Norma who married Warren Westgarth. You must be Betty & Dick Brown's son. While we lived in California we saw your Uncle Bill & Aunt Gladys. We were so sorry to hear of his passing.
Please e-mail me @ blgarth@msn.com. I have done quite a bit of research on the Clark/McCrery/Babcock line this year and found some interesting history.
Anyway, I am glad to hear from you. Walt says Hello.
Take Care-
Barb Westgarth
