Was perusing the surname listings and happened upon Matthias/Nixon. Not sure whether any of this information links in but...
William Matthias (1865/66 - 4/6-7/1934) died in Pittsburgh, PA. William's marriage certificate shows Matthias but his parent's were Frederick Matthis and Elizabeth Holland of Yorkshire, England.
William had a son, William U. (9/8/1889 - 4/14/1951) who married Sophie Smith (3/21/1897).
William had a second son, George (11/16/1890 - 6/14/1891).
William also had a daughter, Martha (1/1/1892 - 7/8/1965) who married George Birkhamer (6/29/1891 - 6/6/1960).
Martha had a twin sister, Mary (1/1/1892 - 7/2/1892).
William had a third daughter, Rosella (Rose) (2/16/1893 - 1/1/1965). Rosella married William C. Krebser on 11/24/1910, Cyrus Rock on 11/24/1915 and Harry Moore (1884 - 1946) on 10/28/1922 (sounds like she had really bad luck with men). Rose had no children.
William had another son, Jacob Ellsworth (4/13/1894) who married Rose Dimple.
Jacob's twin sister, Myrtle (4/13/1894 - 7/11/1894).
William had yet another son, Charles Edward (7/1/1897 - 10/7/1898).
and another son, John B. (12/16/1899) who married Violet Margaret Leonerd.
William's daughter, Elizabeth (1/31/1901) married Walter J. Doyle.
William's daughter, Gertrude (3/10/1903 - 9/30/1907).
Another daughter, Mary Alice (12/18/1906) married Albert Shaffer.
Another son, Harry Harrison (6/2/1907) married Edna Mae McRoberts.

Joyce (11/9/1955)
Harry (12/14/1918. Harry had two daughters, Marlyne (10/22/1948) and Sheryl (6/14/1950).

William U. Matthias' son Harry Harrison Matthias had a son, Harry Walter (11/8/1929 Pittsburgh) who married Lois Viola Pollock (8/30/1935) (my parents).
Harry Harrison Matthias also had a daughter, Shirley Mae Matthias (7/23/1932) who married Robert L. Nixon (11/10/1928).
Shirley and Robert's children are:
James Robert (4/19/1953) who married Janet Schweikert (3/12/1949) and have two children Jason Alan and Jamie Leigh (now living in Lakeland, Fl).
Shirleen Marie (6/16/1956) who married Larry Wayne Johnston (4/9/1956) and have two children John Patrick and Anthony Wayne (now living in Harrison City, PA).
Joyce Ann (10/3/1957) married Jeffrey James Roberts (1/25/1956) and had a son Andrew Jeffrey. They have divorced.

Not sure whether any of this coincides with your research but I thought the Matthias/Nixon link was interesting. Hope this might give you some more information.
