I was thrilled to read your message!Do you know anything more about the children of Caleb (son of Benjamin)?I am a descendant of a Miriam or Marion Mat(t)hews who married an Almon or Almond Carpenter in Gerry, Chautauqua Co., New York in about 1846/7 and their oldest daughter (Nancy who later went by Juliette) was born there in about 1848/9.They had four other children, one unknown, Sophronia, Andrew, and Grant.Marion died in Wallowa Co., Oregon (if I remember right, in 1912) and is buried in a small but very beautiful cemetery on a ridge there.Almon died in Custer or Loup Co., Nebraska in the early 1900's and is buried there.I have been told that Marion or Miriam is the daughter of Caleb Mat(t)hews.
I would greatly appreciate any information that you might have on Caleb and his wife and children or any generations back further.I would be happy to share what I have also!
