Have you ever seen anything about James Or Robert Poer?I'm still trying to check old interviews I took in the 1970's that tell "stories" that Nancy went to Bowie County to near her daughter and Son-in-law Robert Dalby and Rebecca Adaline "Aunt Ad" Matthews and her Poer brothers.I do know that Robert and Ad Dalby are in Bowie County at the same time, but the Dalby's were there before Nancy ever went to Bowie County.I've wondered who Rebecca met Robert Dalby. If the stories are true and Nancy Poer Matthews had brother already in Bowie County, Texas then that would explain how she met Robert "Bob" Dalby, unless he had a tie to Lawrence County, Arkansas.I have found many complicated relationship between the Matthews, Doss, Vaughan, Harmon, Maxwell, Trimble, Tedford (as well as others) and now possible there is a more complex relationship with the Poer Family and possible the Walker and Price Families.
I always refered to her as Nancy L. Poer/Poe until recently when I took out my old papers, letters and John Leroy Matthews Family Bible Records and she it continually listed as Nancy Poer, thus the reason I told you about Poer. You listed my Matthews Web site and I figured you got it from there.I just wanted to update you on the old letters dated 1862-1877.
