Matthes from Illingen,Wurttemberg,1881?

I have recently located my ancestors, Johan and Christina (nee Baumeister) Matthes on LDS microfilms of Evangelical church family registers from Illingen, Wurttemberg. I believe they immigrated with their children to the US through New Orleans in 1881, lived briefly in Memphis and St. Louis, and then settled in Jefferson County, Missouri. Some of Johan's descendents in Missouri spell their name Mattes, without the "h". I don't have information on any other German Matthes families, but would be glad to hear from those looking for the Matthes name near Illingen, Wurttemberg.
