Sarah,
In answer to your question about Sarah Broadbent, she is the daughter of Joseph Broadbent and Ann Siddol. She was born in Lancastershire, England October 7, 1827. She married John Matthews (later changed to Matthes) in 1847 in England. They had Joseph, Robert, Samuel, William, Mary Jane, and Daniel Broadbent Matthes (My gggrandfather). Sarah died in Kendall Co., Illinois. As far as I know they moved there about 1849, as they are on the 1850 census. Would love to hear about your Broadbent side. Thanks for asking.
