“Seeking ancestry of Edward Folger Matteson, b 1873, California. He lived in Stockton (1910 Census) and Sacramento (1930 Census).

David has since found that Edward Folger Matteson was the son of Edward F. Matteson b. 1849 NY and Josephine VANTRESSE who married 30 May 1870, Rocklin, Placer Co., CA; they had children – Harriet “Hattie” b. 1871 & Edward Folger b. 1873; they divorced by 1880. No more Info. on what happened to Edward F. Matteson.
Family info. is that Edward had a brother Charles M. “Carlos” Matteson b. who lived 1870 census Rocklin, Placer Co., in household of Josephine’s mother, Rebecca VANTRES.

Need proof that this Edward F. Matteson and his brother Charles ‘Carlos’ Matteson were the sons of Henry H. “Harry” Matteson and Harriet White of Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. above. Edward and Josephine of Placer Co., CA named their daug. Harriet – was she named after his mother???? who d. in 1849 the year Edward was born.
