Matters (with "s") of WI, late 19th c?

Anyone out there have any info on the Matters family of Wisconsin, late 19th century?

My great-great-grandfather L.G. Matters and his wife Ella Granger, both born in Wisconsin, had a son, George Eugene Matters, ca. 1894; George married Gladys Warner in 1910 and had a son, Robert Matters.

All these Matters were living in the Milwaukee area in the early 20th century; I don't know where in the state L.G. Matters was from, but he was born Wisconsin.

Any info is appreciated!

R. Ben Madison
