Hi Ray,

My name is Bette Smith. I believe my husband (Arlen Smith) is your first cousin. His mother was Margaret Smith (Matte). Her mother was Lovina Mousseau and her father was William Matte. She was raised in Massey and married Roy Smith. I am sorry I have little or no information for you. I have been trying to find out the names of Lovina's parents and also the names of William Matte's parents. I have been in contact with a gal named Cindy Lou in Massey as I got her e-mail address on ancestry.com and thought she know some info. She has been very kind as to look in the Massey graveyard for names for me and told me about your posting. She found an Antoine Mousseau in the 1891 Manitoulin Census who had a daughter Lovina, one called Elvira another called Matilda and a son Gilles. Antoine's wife's name was Mina. Have you ever heard these names? Was Lovina Mousseau born in Massey? If so would the Church have a copy of her baptism (with her parents names)?
Sure hope you see this message and hope you get back to me.
Bette.
