Anna Susan Matsko married Michael Troyan about 1885 (in Hungary according to the 1900 census).Anna supposed to have been the second wife. One child, Michael, was born November 1882 supposedly in Hungary and (according to family) had a different mother, the first wife having died in Hungary.Family relatives said Anna's father was Michael Matsko/Matzko and mother was Anna Petric or Petius, depending on which relative you talk with.According to 1900 Northumberland census, Michael immigrated 1885 and Anna (with son Michael) immigrated 1886.Michael Sr. was dead by 1920 and Anna is listed as having been born in Austria during that census and to have immigrated in 1895 (not naturalized).Language was Ruthenian. It should be noted that in 1900, Michael Sr. & Anna are shown as being married 15 years, the oldest being 17 years of age and the next oldest, John, being 16 years of age.Yet it shows that Anna was the mother of 8 children with 8 living and 8 are in the household. So I'm not sure that Michael had another marriage before Anna. The ship passenger lists in Philadelphia (Record M11951) showed a Michal Matzko, male to Philadelphia on the steamer Arcadia 1903.Our Michael was already here in 1900, so I don't know if the ship record has any connection to my Michael.Be forwarned in doing research on Matsko and Troyan, the names are spelled in ways that you can't possibly imagine.I have a feeling the name today has absolutely no resemblance to what it was in the "old country".
