Hi Emily. There was a Pietro Matranga in my family as well. He too came from Piana dei Greci and arrived to the US around 1900-1901. The only difference is that the Pietro Matranga in my family came in through Ellis Island. It's ironic because he also was married to a Rosa as well. I know that Italians name's are passed down the family line. So maybe the Pietro Matranga in your family and the Pietro Matranga in my family were related, possibly as cousins. I do know for a fact that when my family arrived to the US from Piana dei Greci, part of the Matranga family did come in through New Orleans. Do you by any chance know who Pietro's parents were or if he had any other family? Hope to hear back from you soon.

Wayne
