MRS. CORA MATLOCK DEMPSEY
Graveside service for Mrs. Cora Matlock Dempsey, 91, of Nacogdoches, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Isabell Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Matlock, pastor of Union Springs Baptist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Dempsey died June 28, 2000, in Nacogdoches.
Born Sept. 26, 1908, in Canadian, Okla., she was the daughter of Marion Washington Matlock and Effie Gordon Owens Matlock. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was married to R.E. Dempsey, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, M.D. Dempsey of Nacogdoches; daughters, Nancy Geraldine Combs of Moore, Okla., and Geneva Dempsey of Nacogdoches; sister, Violet Townsend of Tyler; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today.
