Funeral for Mr. Bertis Lee Matlock, 58, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1997, in Fredonia Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Price, pastor of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, Nacogdoches, officiating and burial in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Matlock died Thursday, May 15, 1997, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Born August 8, 1938, in Nacogdoches, Texas, son of Bertis M. Matlock and Aslee Johnson Matlock, both deceased. He was a city commissioner and a retired postal clerk. He was a member of the Nacogdoches City Commission, retired from the Nacogdoches Post Office after 25 years of service, member of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, member of Nacogdoches Business and Professtional Women's Organization, responsible for the design and construction of the Nacogdoches Fire Department Rehab Unit, and Alexandre and Luda Kossenkov from Belarus (Diving Team) in Atlanta, Ga.

Surviving are daughter, Vickie Daughtry of Acworth, Ga.; son-in-law, Mr. Mike Daughtry of Acworth, Ga.; grandchild, Kristoffer Daughtry of Acworth, Ga.; and grandchild, Kasey Daughtry of Acworth, Ga.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 1997, in Laird-McGill Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Nacogdoches Fire Department Rehab Unit, P.O. Box 630648, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963-0648.
