FUNERAL FOR L.D. MATLOCK AT MOSCOW

Funeral services for Lewis David Matlock, 83, formerly of Nacogdoches, were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 18, at 2 o'clock in the Moscow Methodist Church, with the Rev. M.E. Duggen, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Wilkerson.

Mr. Matlock died at his home in Moscow Thursday afternoon, Jan. 16, at 5 o'clock.

He was born Oct. 7, 1874 in Nacogdoches, the son of Lade Boatman Matlock and Henry Matlock. He had lived in Moscow for a number of years. He was married to Lizzie Muller Matlock, who survives. Mr. Matlock was a member of the Methodist Church in Moscow.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Matlock of Moscow; seven daughters, Mrs. Lurlie Clifton and Mrs. Gladys Ellis, both of Livingston; Mrs. Minnie Sanders and Mrs. Lucille Pate, both of Houston; Mrs. Bessie Claman of Highland, and Mrs. Amanda Haney and Mrs. Bertie Greer, both of Nacogdoches; three sons, Hebron Matlock of Baytown, Fred Matlock of Corrigan, and Homer Matlock of Moscow; one sister, Mrs. J.D. McIlwain of Nacogdoches; three brothers, John Matlock and Oscar Matlock, both of San Francisco, Calif., and Earl Matlock of Dickinson; also 39 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Lee Sanders, Gene Greer, Jimmie Greer, Jewel Matlock, Eugene Matlock, and Kean Heaslet.

The Corrigan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
