I have photo of Tim. Matlack's home where he died in 1829
If anyone whould like me to email them a photo of the home where Timothy Matlack died in 1829 please email me at [email protected]
I have a photo of the house taken in the early 1960's. It was demolished in the late 1980's. There is a marker on the street where the home once was denoting Timothy Matlack, transcriber of the Dec. of Independence, livedat that location at one time.
My uncle grew up in that house in Holmesburg near Philadelphia, PA.(back then Holmesburg wasn't in the city proper) The house dated to the 18th century.I was in it several times when I was a child. It had two staircases, a formal staircase and a winding back stair that led up to the 3rd floor. The ceilings were high. Back when I knew that house it had been covered with plaster on the outside. That was sometimes done to old houses to lengthen their livablity, prevent leaks.
Anyway, I have a photo of the house as it appeared in 1960 if anyone would like a photo of their ancestor's home, just email me. It was a really neat old house!
