My husband is a Mathie. The earliest Mathie that we have is John Mathie, b. 1802, in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland; he d 1878 in Irvine. He married Jane Wood. She was b. 1802, d. 1882, in Ayrshire. They had 4 children, Robert Wood, b. 1882, Thomas, b. 1825, Mary, b. 1826, and Jane or Janet, b. 1833. Any connections with your Jannet?
