Hi, Diane - I don't know the cousin you're looking for, but I am Christy Mathewson's great granddaughter. I know that all the books say he had no living relatives, but my grandmother had an affair with Christy's son and that produced my dad, Christopher. My dad had five children and then there are fourteen grandchildren. So, the Mathewson lineage lives on - just not very well known. Good luck with your paper and hope you find who you're looking for.
