We're currently researching our ancestor, P. or Patrick Mathews of Lynchburg, VA and Baltimore, MD area. In the 1870 census, it shows that he was a 86 year old retired merchant, who was born in about 1784, somewhere in Ireland. He had Mat(t)hews relatives in Johnson Co., MO. and Brooke Co., VA area (now W.V.).
Can anyone help Us with the following?
We'd like to find an Obituary, Will, Ship Mr. Mathews arrived on from Ireland to the U.S., possible Naturalization Paperwork or any other information about Mr. P. or Patrick Mathews. We don't know his parents or siblings names or if he was ever married.
