Dorothy, I too would like to make some headway on Joseph and Nancy. I have their marriage from "Warren County, Georgia Marriage Records 1784-1849" by Frances T. Ingmire as: Joseph Matthews married nancy Hall 27 August 1823. In "They Were Here" vol.5 Page 132: 77520-Editors Note- Joseph Matthews living Warren County drew LOT in 1818.(along with wife Nancy Hall).
Joseph is shown as a "Jr" in 1830 Census and in Church minutes in the 1850's/Americus, Georgia area.
Their daughter Epsy Matthews Weaver line mentioned a hand written history saying there were 7 brothers and 7 sisters (14 children for Joseph and Nancy). I was told that Joseph and Nancy died within a month of each other in Sept/Oct 1864, probably near Andersonville but have found no proof. Juanita
